DANIA BEACH-- A boat caught on fire in a Dania Beach canal on Sunday afternoon, sending black smoke billowing into the air. The fire started just after 1 p.m. and was located in a canal between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport and I-95, just north of Griffin Road. Firefighters responded to the scene to contain the blaze, but details on any injuries or damage to the boat are still being assessed. Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.

Broward Sheriff's Office Fire Rescue deployed both ground and water units to help extinguish the flames from the fire. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in connection with the incident. The cause of the fire remains unclear, and authorities are continuing to investigate
