A 28-year-old footballer from Bermuda has died after being stabbed to death near a fishing club on the outskirts of the capital, Hamilton.

Raymond Butterfield, the father of an eight-week-old daughter, died after being stabbed near the Blue Waters Anglers Club on Sunday night. One person was later arrested by police.

Butterfield, who played for First Division club Wolves, was rushed to hospital after an altercation at about 11 p.m., but died as a result of his injuries.
