BermudAir orders 10 Airbus A220 aircraft to expand Caribbean, North America network

The airline said the new aircraft will support route expansion and open new destinations, while introducing the Airbus A220 to a new region of operations in the Atlantic and Caribbean.

Scott said the aircraft also aligns with the airline's focus on passenger comfort.
"The A220's spacious, quiet and comfortable cabin is perfectly aligned with the experience our guests have come to expect from us," he said.
Airbus welcomed the agreement, describing it as a milestone for the aircraft's expansion into a new operating region.
"BermudAir's selection of the A220-300 validates the aircraft's role as a tool for targeted regional development," said Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, executive vice president of sales for Airbus Commercial Aircraft.
"This agreement introduces the A220 to a distinct operational environment in the Atlantic and Caribbean, demonstrating how its efficiency supports tailored business models."
BermudAir said the A220-300 will be configured with 135 seats in a three-class layout and will enable the carrier to launch additional nonstop routes while offering greater scheduling flexibility.
The airline said the aircraft will reduce fuel burn and carbon dioxide emissions by 25% per seat compared with previous-generation aircraft, supporting more sustainable operations.
The A220 carries between 100 and 160 passengers and has a range of up to 3,600 nautical miles (6,700 kilometers). Airbus said 526 A220 aircraft had been delivered to more than 25 operators worldwide as of the end of June, with the aircraft program surpassing 1,100 orders.
