Asafa Powell recognized for global track and field impact with Bleu & Bougie Award

Jamaica's esteemed 100-meter sprinter, Asafa Powell, is set to be honored with the prestigious 2024 Bleu & Bougie Impact Award during the upcoming Elite Weekend party series on March 16 and 17 at Kingston's historic Devon House.
Jerry McDonald, co-producer of New York's Bleu & Bougie, announced that Powell will be recognized for his remarkable contributions to global track and field. Highlighting Powell's achievements, McDonald praised his outstanding performances, including setting the 100-meter world record twice and consistently breaking the 10-second barrier in competition.
Powell, often referred to as the "Sub 10 King" in athletics, holds a remarkable record of breaking the 10-second barrier 97 times in the 100 meters, surpassing all other athletes in this feat.
