Jamaica's swimming sensation Alia Atkinson won three individual events at the three-day Florida Gold Coast Swimming Championships, which ended on March 21.

The four-time Olympian, representing South Florida Aquatics, won the 100-yard freestyle, the 100-yard butterfly in 52.01 seconds, and the 100-yard breaststroke in 58.92-seconds.

With the three victories, Atkinson improved her record to 13 victories from 14 starts this year. In the 100-yard freestyle, Atkinson became the fastest-ever Jamaican in the event with her 48.81-second clocking.

She also lowered her personal best of 49.64 set at the 2016 edition of the meet.

Atkinson achieved a fourth gold medal as South Florida Aquatics took the 200-yard medley relay. Atkinson provided a game-changing 50-yard breaststroke split of 28.09 to propel the South Florida Aquatics to victory in 1:46.71.

Alia Atkinson, a longtime resident of Florida, mostly trains in South Florida Aquatic Club swim team (Broward County) which is managed by her coach, Chris Anderson.
