Actresses Angela Bassett, Dawnn Lewis appointed as Tourism Ambassadors of Antigua

Hollywood actresses Angela Bassett and Dawnn Lewis have been named the Tourism Ambassadors of Antigua and Barbuda.

The decision to appoint both women as Tourism Ambassadors was taken during the cabinet meeting this week.

According to a statement from the Government, Basset has demonstrated her love for Antigua by regular visits and by making use of the celebrity power she has accrued by appearing in numerous films.

“Miss Lewis, who starred in Grey’s Anatomy, A Different World, and many movies and sitcoms also loves Antigua,” the statement added.

The Hollywood stars  will not be paid for their work as the government noted that the “appointment is voluntary, does not involve any remuneration and they have agreed to make appearances on behalf of Antigua and Barbuda.”

Angela Bassett is well-known for her role in films such as Black PantherAvengers: Endgame, and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever amongst others.

Dawn Lewis is best known for her role on the NBC television sitcom A Different World, she acted and also co-wrote the opening theme for the series.
