People Profile Awards will highlight the accomplishments of individuals, groups, and entities, and the impact that they have on others, the community and the world.

Tribute to Parkland victims

The awards to be held at the Bailey Hall Performing Arts Theater located at 3501 Davie Road, will not only highlight the contribution of individuals and organizations in the community, but will also pay special tribute to those affected by the recent Parkland Tragedy.

The event will also feature stalwarts in the entertainment industry including Everton Blender, King Yellow-man and South Florida’s own Mical Russell.

Some of this year’s nominees are Dr. Paul Hamilton, Juliet Roulhac, Joma McLeod, James T, Waggy Tee, Kiwanis Club of Sunrise, Dwyane Wade and Keesha Barreau.

The 2018 award recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award is Jamaican actress Leonie Forbes.

The event will be hosted by Jamaica’s King of Comedy, Oliver Samuels.

Proceeds will go to special charity organizations and the Opal Davis lunch project.
