15-year-old killed in NW Miami-Dade, police search for shooter

Police are searching for the man responsible for killing a 15-year-old boy on Wednesday in northwest Miami-Dade.

The deceased has been identified as Barry Ellis.

Reports are that Ellis was shot in the chest.

The shooting happened near North Miami Avenue and Northwest 79th Avenue in West Little River.

According to reports, the Miami-Dade Police officers responded to a call that someone was injured shortly after 4:30 p.m.

Authorities have reported that the teen was shot inside a residence he had been visiting, noting that several people were in the home at the time.

The circumstances surrounding the killing are still unknown.

Investigations are ongoing.
