A magnitude 4.9 earthquake struck Trinidad and Tobago on Tuesday afternoon, causing tremors across parts of the country but with no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

According to the Seismic Research Centre (SRC) at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St Augustine campus, the quake occurred at 4:20 p.m. local time. It was located at latitude 11.26N and longitude 61.40W, with a depth of 20 kilometers.
The tremor was felt 67 km north-northeast of Port of Spain, 70 km north-northwest of Arima, and 73 km west of Scarborough, Tobago.
Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation, but no alerts or warnings have been issued.
