Miramar welcomed the latest addition to its educational landscape with the grand opening of the Universal Technical Institute (UTI) on Thursday, August 24.
With multiple campuses spread across the United States, UTI’s decision to make Miramar its newest home signifies the city’s growing relevance in the technical education sector.
According to the City of Miramar Vice Mayor Alexandra P. Davis, the city’s partnership with the institution will help to ensure that even if young people don’t go to college, they can receive training and become gainfully employed by landing good paying, trade jobs.

Driving dreams: Automotive repair and beyond
The institution offers a wide array of programs catering to a diverse set of trade skills. From automotive repair to aircraft maintenance and welding, UTI strives to equip the youth of Miramar with tangible skills that have significant demand in the current job market.
