The highly anticipated annual Royal Egg Hunt is on the horizon, scheduled for Saturday, March 23rd, at the Sunrise Sportsplex (9101 NW 50th Street), pending favorable weather conditions.
However, organizers have a contingency plan in place, with an alternate date of Saturday, March 30th, in case of inclement weather.
In light of potential postponement, organizers are taking a cautious approach, scaling back the event’s ancillary attractions while still ensuring the core Royal Egg Hunt remains the highlight of the day. Despite the adjustments, participation in the egg hunt remains free of charge.
An update regarding the event’s status will be provided tomorrow afternoon, and interested participants are encouraged to stay tuned to the official website, www.sunrisefl.gov/egghunt, and City of Sunrise social media channels for the latest information.
Activities for all ages
Assuming favorable weather, the egg hunt will kick off at 10:30 am sharp, inviting children of all ages to partake in the excitement. Attendees are encouraged to embrace the royal theme by dressing up as their favorite prince or princess and bringing along a basket for collecting eggs.
To ensure a seamless experience, attendees are advised to plan ahead by reviewing the event map to locate designated egg hunt areas, conveniently divided by age groups across baseball fields.
Additionally, early arrival is recommended to secure parking, with Westpine Middle School and Banyan Elementary School lots serving as preferred options. Parking at the Sportsplex and NW 50th Street lot will be limited, while walking and biking to the venue are encouraged alternatives.
