Families are invited to celebrate culture, creativity, and community at Juneteenth Family Day, a lively event hosted by Vice Mayor Yvette Colbourne on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Miramar City Hall Plaza.
The event will feature a range of interactive activities for all ages, including jewelry making, soap making, and doll crafting at hands-on crafting stations. Attendees can also enjoy a pop-up African art exhibit, and children will have the chance to receive a free book through the event’s “Little Library” giveaway—one book per family, while supplies last.
A step show performance will bring high energy and tradition to the afternoon, showcasing talent and celebrating African American heritage.
Families are encouraged to stop by the registration tent upon arrival to receive a book ticket, which can be redeemed for a free book.
The Juneteenth Family Day will also feature Dr. Eddie Glaude Jr., a New York Times Bestselling Author, as the Guest Speaker.
Juneteenth Family Day will take place at 2300 Civic Center Place, Miramar, and runs until 3:00 p.m.
