A man is in custody following a shooting outside a strip club in Broward County early Saturday morning, the Broward Sheriff’s Office confirmed.
Deputies responded around 5:30 a.m. to reports of gunfire outside the Playhouse Gentlemen’s Club, located at 5775 W. Hallandale Beach Boulevard in West Park. When authorities arrived, they found multiple damaged vehicles in the parking lot, including two BMWs, one of which had deployed airbags, according to CBS Miami.
A suspect identified as Akheem Omarie Mahabier, 28, was taken into custody at the scene. Paramedics were seen evaluating him before he was placed in a BSO vehicle.
Although no injuries were reported in connection with the shooting, Mahabier is facing several serious charges. Jail records reviewed by Local 10 News show he has been booked on one count each of attempted murder, aggravated assault with intent to commit a felony, and possession of a weapon or ammunition by a convicted felon.
