This will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 8:00 pm to 3:00 am.

The event will take place at the 1400 Block of NW 31 Ave in the City of Lauderhill and will impact local traffic patterns.

DUI checkpoints which are routinely carried out, allow police to randomly stop vehicles to detect drivers impaired by drugs or alcohol.

Some signs of impairment include:

  • Bloodshot, watery eyes
  • Slurred speech
  • Flushed face
  • The odor of alcoholic beverage

The driver may also be asked to submit to roadside exercises, also known as field sobriety tests (FST). These tests consist of the walk-and-turn, the one-leg stand, and horizontal gaze nystagmus (HGN).

The Lauderhill Police Department’s Traffic Unit is tasked with traffic control and enforcement within the City of Lauderhill.

The department’s main purpose is to reduce traffic crashes, injuries, and fatalities related to crashes, and to facilitate the safe and expeditious flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic through education and enforcement of State and local traffic regulations.
