This initiative is a crucial step in providing relief to residents still grappling with the economic fallout of the pandemic.

The event is set to take place at John Mullins Park in Lauderhill, where families can receive groceries on a first-come, first-served basis. In addition to the food distribution, a community cleanup will be held at Devon Hunt and the surrounding areas starting at 8 a.m. This encourages residents to contribute positively to their neighborhood before the distribution begins.

Commissioner Grant emphasized the importance of such initiatives, stating, “Food insecurity is a real issue that affects many families in our community. We are dedicated to providing assistance and resources to those in need.”

The community food distribution event underscores Lauderhill’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and improving the lives of its residents. Families in need are encouraged to attend and benefit from this vital resource.

Event Details:

Date: Friday, June 28
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. (community cleanup at 8 a.m.)
Location: John Mullins Park, Lauderhill

This collaboration between Commissioner Grant and Farm Share is a powerful demonstration of how community efforts can bring about meaningful change.
