‘A Place in the Dark’ film VIP pre-launch hosted in Miramar

Jamaican filmmaker Ifé Duckie’s highly anticipated film, ‘A Place in the Dark,’ was celebrated in grand style on July 28 at the Miramar City Hall.

The VIP Movie Pre-Launch Cocktail Reception was sponsored by Commissioner Maxwell B. Chambers and hosted by Harold Keith Jr.

The event was a showcase of talent, creativity, and community support. Distinguished guests included Commissioner Morey Wright Jr. representing Tamarac, who joined hands to celebrate one of the city’s local treasures, as well as prominent figures from various industries, including entertainment, politics, and business. 

Attendees were treated to a sneak preview of the movie with the official trailer and insightful discussions about the film’s creation.

The evening sparkled with excitement in a vibrant networking session, where guests connected, shared ideas, and discussed the impact of films like ‘A Place in the Dark,’ creating an atmosphere of camaraderie and appreciation for the remarkable achievements of the Florida production. 

“As the writer, producer, and co-director, I am delighted to witness the passion and dedication poured into A Place in the Dark film. I hope my vision and artistry will resonate with audiences worldwide,” stated Ifé Duckie.

‘A Place in the Dark,’ directed by the award-winning director Robert O. Peters is poised to make an indelible mark on the global stage starting September 2, 2023, at the Silverspot Cinema, Coconut Creek, Florida.
