Arturo Edwardo Avila Zarraga, a 55-year-old Mexican national and executive chef at a prominent all-inclusive resort in Rose Hall, St. James, Jamaica, was found dead in his Rosevale Estate apartment on Thursday.
He is suspected of committing suicide.
Zarraga was found hanging by an electric cord in his apartment, at approximately 7:30 a.m.
Potential message left behind
It is reported that he left a note was left behind in which Zarraga expressed feeling dehumanized, local authorities have yet to confirm the existence of such a note.
Final moments
The police’s preliminary investigations highlight that Zarraga was last seen alive around 10:30 a.m. on the preceding Wednesday.
Reports did not suggest any signs of forced entry or physical violence.
