Jamaica’s Ministry of Education and Youth is urging the public to be cautious of a phony ‘Students Laptop Scheme 2023’ purporting to be affiliated with the ministry.
The laptop scheme claims that 960,000 students are to receive free laptops.
Fayval Williams, Minister of Education and Youth, has cautioned people not to click on any links to the offer.
“Principals, teachers, and the general public are being warned to be wary of clicking on the link,” she said.
The ministry also warns, particularly students, to be wary as the laptop scheme is intended for those who need a device for school purposes, and who are unable to purchase a laptop of their own.
