This crisis has had a particularly devastating impact on the nation’s children.

Rising violence displaces over 170,000 children

UNICEF’s latest report reveals that at least 170,000 children have been forced from their homes due to the surge in gang-led violence.

This surge encompasses a range of atrocities, including killings, kidnappings, sexual violence, and a severe food shortage, exacerbating the suffering of vulnerable Haitian families.

The number has doubled since last year.

UNICEF’s plea for assistance

Speaking on the matter, UNICEF Representative in Haiti, Bruno Maes, emphasized the unrelenting brutality that children and families are enduring.
