BVI releases commemorative stamp collection marking King Charles III’s coronation

The British Virgin Islands has revealed a commemorative stamp collection, commemorating the coronation of King Charles III.

Acting Postmaster General Iris Romney introduced the collection, which showcases pivotal moments from the King’s coronation ceremony held in London on May 6th, 2023.

The 20-cent stamp: A royal departure

The 20-cent stamp within the collection captures a majestic moment, illustrating King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla Coach’s departure from Buckingham Palace en route to Westminster Abbey in the opulent Gold State Coach, just ahead of the coronation.

The 35-cent stamp: A crowned monarch

In the 35-cent stamp, we witness King Charles III immediately following his coronation, bedecked with the St. Edward’s Crown, which was placed upon his head by the venerable Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby.

The 50-cent stamp: The royal return

The 50-cent stamp portrays the newly crowned King Charles III and Queen Camilla as they embark on a triumphant journey to Buckingham Palace in the resplendent Gold State Coach, shortly after their coronation ceremony.
