Barbados honors track sensation Sada Williams with airport mural, billboard

Barbados’ renowned quarter-miler, Sada Williams, was honored with a special tribute at the Grantley Adams International Airport, leaving both locals and visitors in awe.

The unveiling ceremony featured a mural inside the Arrivals Hall and a billboard outside the airport, dedicated to the exceptional athlete.

Travelers arriving on the island were treated to a glimpse of Sada Williams, while students from her former schools joined the commemorative event. Coach Paul Francis of the Jamaican-based MVP Track Club also attended the ceremony.

Deputy Prime Minister Santia Bradshaw and Minister of Sports and Youth, Charles Griffith, led the tributes to Williams.

Sada Williams’ remarkable athletic journey

In August, she secured a bronze medal in the 400 meters at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary.

Williams, who chose to base her training in Jamaica, has consistently showcased her remarkable talent and excellence on the global stage in women’s track and field.
