Elias Fritz, better known to his hundreds of thousands of social media followers as “JaidoWorld,” is facing multiple serious charges in the Bahamas after being arrested on August 11 following an early morning police chase in New Providence.

According to an official crime report from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, officers observed a vehicle around 4:30 a.m. traveling at a “high speed” without headlights. When police attempted to stop the car, the occupants allegedly opened fire on law enforcement. Officers returned fire as the chase unfolded.

The pursuit ended abruptly when the vehicle slammed into a utility pole. Police said three males — two aged 19 and one aged 17 — were taken into custody. A “high-powered weapon” was also recovered from the car. Local news outlets Eyewitness News Bahamas and The Tribune 242 later identified one of the 19-year-olds as Fritz.

During the chase, police reported that another motorist in the area was discovered suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Authorities allege he had been shot by the suspects in the fleeing vehicle. He was transported to hospital for treatment.

Fritz and the other adult passenger have since been formally charged with attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, possession of ammunition, and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. Neither man was required to enter a plea, and both were denied bail. They are expected to return to court on November 21 for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.

The incident, which was captured on video obtained by Eyewitness News Bahamas, has stunned many of Fritz’s followers, who know him not as a criminal suspect but as a rising social media personality.

Fritz gained popularity on TikTok beginning in May 2024, when he started posting clips from his job as a bartender at the popular Tiki Bikini Hut in Nassau. His charisma and engaging videos quickly went viral, earning him more than 300,000 followers on the platform. His online presence later grew to include collaborations with local brands, including Bahari Bahamas, a well-known fashion label. In November 2024, Fritz modeled a new jacket release for the company, cementing his status as one of the island’s notable young influencers.
