KINGSTON, Jamaica - Congratulations are in order for Olympian Elaine Thompson and former athlete and coach Derron Herah who wed in Jamaica this past weekend.

The longtime couple tied the knot on Saturday, November 2, at Old Fort Bay in St Ann. The couple has kept their relationship out of the spotlight, but following the wedding, Thompson took to Instagram to confirm the news.

"I have a best friend as a husband, and he is my number one supporter. He’s a family man, and he’s always giving back to God. That is what makes him a beautiful man. We’re not perfect by any means, but that makes us beautiful as well. We’re not afraid to say we’re not perfect. We have our disagreements, but that comes along with marriage", she said in an Instagram post.

The 37-year-old sprinter husband, Herah, is a former St. Jago athlete. Herah also attended Southwest Christian Junior College and Texas Tech University.

At the Doha 2019 World Championships in September, Elaine Thompson finished fourth in the women’s 100m. She also pulled out of the 200m semi-finals and the 4x100m replays due to a recurring Achilles injury. She has said that she is now focused on doing her best for the Tokyo Olympics in 2020.
