The event, running from 11 AM to 3 PM at Freedom Lab Miami, will feature SBJN’s Mobile Midwife Clinic, offering essential midwifery services and resources for expecting and new parents in a supportive and nurturing environment.

As part of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, the event will address the growing maternal health crisis, particularly affecting Black women and marginalized communities in the U.S. Attendees will have access to free and low-cost holistic health services, complimentary refreshments, and giveaways of critical items like diapers, strollers, and breast pumps.

Leah Jones, Director of the Birth Justice Care Fund, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, “During Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, we honor the grief of those who’ve experienced loss and highlight the challenges Black communities face in reproductive health. We celebrate the work of Black birth workers and midwives, affirming that every parent deserves dignity and support.”

The Mobile Midwife Clinic, a key highlight of the event, will provide on-site care from midwives and doulas, offering education, resources, and compassionate support to families, including those navigating pregnancy and infant loss.

SBJN’s Executive Director, licensed midwife Jamarah Amani, shared, “We are thrilled to gather the community in a space that centers wellness, education, and birth justice. Our commitment is to ensuring safer, healthier, and more equitable reproductive outcomes for all.”

Launched in 2023, SBJN’s Mobile Midwife Clinic has served over 200 clients in South Florida, providing essential care and advocacy. With maternal mortality rates continuing to rise, particularly among women of color, events like “Celebrating Birth Justice!” are vital in raising awareness and fostering community engagement in the fight for birth justice.
