The highly anticipated Spilligate’23 event in The Bahamas, featuring Nigerian superstar Burna Boy as the headline act, has been postponed.
This decision was announced by Foreign Currency Promotions during a media conference held on Tuesday.
Weather woes threaten the spectacle
Fernerin Hanna, the CEO of Signature Production, addressed the media and cited concerns about the impending adverse weather conditions in The Bahamas.
Speculations of inclement weather were brewing, with forecasts indicating a potential weather disturbance that would persist from Tuesday evening straight through the weekend.
Hanna expressed the logistical challenges posed by such weather conditions, making it impossible for the organizers to proceed with setting up for the grand concert.
The event was originally scheduled to take place at the prestigious Thomas A. Robinson Stadium, located within the National Carnival Grounds.
Postponement leaves team disappointed
In the wake of the postponement, Hanna said they are disappointed, highlighting the extensive efforts made by both the organizing teams and Foreign Currency Promotions to ensure the event’s success.
She emphasized that the Spilligate’23 event has not been canceled but merely postponed.
A new date for the spectacle is currently under deliberation and will be announced in the coming days.
In light of this, Hanna urged the public to stay updated by regularly checking the event’s official website.
Hanna said that emails containing pertinent information have been sent to thousands of ticketholders, ensuring that they are informed of the situation.
