Spice teams up with British-Romanian star Lavbbe for new single ‘Slow Motion’

Dancehall powerhouse Spice is set to release her new single “Slow Motion” alongside British-Romanian artist and social media star Lavbbe. The track, produced by Shaggy and Shane Hoosong, will be available digitally on August 29 via VP Records and Ranch Entertainment.

Described as an electrifying dancefloor anthem, “Slow Motion” blends Spice’s rapid-fire deejaying with Lavbbe’s melodic delivery. “Working with Lavbbe was pure vibes. She brought her own flavor to the track, and I love how our styles came together. The song has an energy that will keep people dancing so I can’t wait for everyone to hear it,” said Spice.

The video, directed by Meeks + Frost and filmed at Roller Nation in London, will premiere the same day as the single’s release.

The collaboration comes on the heels of Spice’s enduring 2021 hit “Go Down Deh” featuring Shaggy and Sean Paul, which recently surpassed 300 million Spotify streams and earned her a gold certification in France. Over the summer, she performed at Reggae Sumfest, Wireless Festival, and City Splash Festival, while also making appearances at the BET Awards. She is currently nominated for several honors at the upcoming Caribbean Music Awards, including Dancehall Album of the Year and Female Dancehall Artist of the Year.

Widely recognized as the Queen of Dancehall, Spice (Grace Latoya Hamilton) has built a career spanning more than two decades with hits such as “So Mi Like It,” “Romping Shop,” and “Frenz.” Her debut album 10 (2021), executive produced by Shaggy, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Reggae Album and became the best-selling and most-streamed dancehall album in recent years. She has since followed with Emancipated (2022) and Mirror 25 (2024), a 25-track project marking her 25 years in music.

“Slow Motion” continues Spice’s partnership with VP Records and Ranch Entertainment, following last year’s “Sitt’n Fi Chat.”
