As Jamaica marks its 63rd year of independence, the City of Lauderhill is preparing for one of the most electrifying celebrations South Florida has ever seen. On Sunday, August 3rd, the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center will come alive with “Solid As A Rock,” a cultural concert anchored by the legendary Sizzla Kalonji, now joined by another Jamaican icon: Festival Song King Roy Rayon.

This event is more than a concert; it’s a historic tribute to resilience, identity, and musical legacy. Headliner Sizzla Kalonji, known worldwide for his powerful voice, conscious lyrics, and unwavering commitment to the Rastafari faith, is celebrating 30 years in music. From the anthemic “Praise Ye Jah” to the timeless “Solid As A Rock”, Sizzla’s catalog is rich with fire and upliftment, and this summer, his milestone celebration makes a major stop in Lauderhill before heading to Jamaica for the official 30th anniversary show in October.

Now, adding even more cultural weight to the night, four-time Jamaica Festival Song Competition winner Roy Rayon has joined the lineup. With unforgettable hits like “Give Thanks and Praises,” “Rise and Shine,” and “Love Fever,” Roy Rayon’s voice has long been the soundtrack of Jamaican independence. Known affectionately as “Mr. Festival,” Rayon’s appearance at this year’s Lauderhill celebration is both timely and symbolic.

“It’s a blessing to bring these legends together,” says the production team. “To have Sizzla during his 30th year, and Roy Rayon, a voice of independence itself, makes this show one for the history books.”

Also featured on the night is Etana, the soulful singer who continues to blaze a trail for modern roots and cultural reggae. With global hits like “I Am Not Afraid” and “People Talk,” she brings depth and spirit to a lineup that spans generations.

Veteran artists Admiral Tibet, Lady G, and Hal Anthony (known for his rich stage presence and voice of class) add their own signature sounds to the evening, backed by the incomparable Mighty Code Red Band, ensuring a full-bodied live experience.

Setting the mood and carrying the energy all night long will be the talents of DJ Radcliffe, DJ Fergie, Supa Sound, and Foota Hype, while the event will be hosted by the vibrant trio of Jody Ann Gray, Mr. Lexxus, and TC Flex.
