Devin Di Dakta’s raunchy and rhythmically infectious track Bubble has found a new lease on life, nearly a decade after its release, thanks to a high-profile international spotlight. The 2016 song, produced by Equiknoxx Music and Swing Ting, is now part of Apple’s official Beats by Dre campaign, which stars Spanish football phenom Lamine Yamal.

The ad, which dropped just ahead of the El Clásico match between Barcelona and Real Madrid, features the young Barca star donning a sleek pair of Beats headsets. At the one-minute mark, the unmistakable riddim of Bubble drops, punctuated by the on-screen text: “This is just what I want, this is what I’m talking about.”

Reacting to the milestone, Devin Di Dakta posted the commercial to his Instagram page with a succinct yet celebratory caption: “BIG VIBE”.

This latest accolade marks a major milestone in Devin Di Dakta’s evolving career—one that began when he stood out as a bold and charismatic contestant on Jamaica’s popular talent show, Magnum Kings and Queens of Dancehall. With his distinctive voice, sharp lyrics, and fearless stage presence, he quickly became a fan favorite.

But Devin didn’t settle into the expected mold. Instead, he charted his own course—refining his craft, experimenting with sound, and releasing a mix of hard-hitting dancehall tracks and genre-blending singles that defy easy categorization. His willingness to push boundaries has earned him both local acclaim and growing international recognition.

In 2016, Devin made history as the youngest dancehall artist ever nominated for a Grammy, as part of the Reggae Forever compilation. That early nod wasn’t a fluke. Since then, he’s steadily built a catalogue that balances raw energy with lyrical depth. His music fuses traditional dancehall with pop, rock, and social commentary, cementing his status as one of the genre’s most innovative voices.

Soon after his Grammy nomination, Devin appeared on Oh Devil, a track by Los Angeles-based band Electric Guest, which entered the Billboard Hot Rock Songs Chart at #47 and has since amassed over 40 million Spotify streams—another sign of his cross-genre appeal.

Now, with his track Bubble catching global attention and bubbling onto international playlists, Devin Di Dakta is proving, once again, that Jamaica’s creative well runs deep—and he’s one of its brightest, boldest talents.
