Launched last March, the Interreg CAP 3D II project aims to structure the animation and video game industry in the Greater Caribbean.
With a view to developing the animation industry in the Caribbean, the partners in the Interreg CAP 3D II project have worked to set up a delegation from their respective territories to attend the prestigious International Animation Film Festival.
In this delegation Parallel 14, a private 3D animation, vfx, and video game school, represents Martinique; while Trinidad and Tobago is represented by TTAP and Full Circle Animation Ltd and Jamaica with ListenMi Caribbean Ltd.
The 38-member delegation comprised of students and professionals arrived in Annecy, France on June 11 with the shared objectives to promote their work, enrich their knowledge, improve their skills, compare themselves with the international market, and create a network.
Exceptional opportunities
The Annecy International Animation Film Festival is the largest and one of the most influential events in the animation industry and for the first time, a Caribbean delegation will be present at and participate in the MIFA (Marché International du Film d’Animation). The MIFA is a major part of the core of the Festival and represents a unique opportunity to find out about the state of the industry, as this professional market enables industry players to meet each other and engage in direct dialogue and negotiations. Students and professionals from the delegation will also have the opportunity to pitch their projects, take part in masterclasses and conferences and possibly even meet their future employers.
An additional first: Participation in the MIFA will be via a booth dedicated exclusively to the delegation and placed at a busy intersection at the heart of the event.
The CAP 3D II project partners will be on Stand A. 75 A at MIFA from June 13 to 16, 2023, where they will showcase the rich culture, creativity, and talent of the Caribbean, and provide an international showcase for CAP 3D II project.
