The creative force behind the scenes

Gibson’s mission is to create family-friendly content that inspires audiences worldwide, a vision supported by recent awards and acknowledgments, including recognition from The St. Pete/Clearwater Film Commission.

A Bahamian collaboration

In an effort to integrate Bahamian culture into the project, Gibson sought out top-tier talent from The Bahamas, bringing a slice of the archipelago to the Florida Gulf Coast.

This initiative saw the involvement of Bahamian talents like costume designer Kache Knowles and casting director Earlene Camille, alongside the exceptional acting prowess of JaQuay Adderley.

Such collaborations underscore the film’s commitment to showcasing the rich talent pool of The Bahamas.

Cast reflections

Geneva Maccarone, stepping into her first leading role as Aaliyah Wilson, shared her exhilaration and gratitude for the opportunity.

The role not only marked her debut as a lead actress but also earned her an acting award, making the experience truly unforgettable.

Similarly, JaQuay Adderley expressed his joy at being part of such a professional ensemble and working under Gibson’s direction.

His involvement highlights the broadening horizons for Bahamian talent in the international film scene.

Looking ahead

Deon Gibson, already known for his work on the TV series “Church Folks,” hints at future projects with plans already in motion for releases as early as summer 2024.

His experience working on back-to-back films has been transformative, blending challenge, enlightenment, and enjoyment.

Gibson eagerly anticipates shooting the third installment of his film series in his homeland, The Bahamas, promising more innovative and inspiring content to come.
