‘An Evening with Michael Bolton’: The unforgettable experience for Jamaicans

The multi-Grammy-Award-winning singer, and songwriter, Michael Bolton was the highlight of the weekend for many Jamaicans who journeyed on Saturday to the Issa Trust Foundation’s For the Children Charity Concert in St Ann.

The concert dubbed ‘An Evening with Michael Bolton’, consisted of exciting performances by Ky-Mani Marley and the children from the Bob Marley Primary and Junior High School, Tarrus Riley, and Michael Bolton inside the Couples Sans Souci in Ocho Rios. 

The 70-year-old singer known for his timeless songs of love performed hits such as When A Man Loves A Woman, To Love Somebody, Said I Loved You…But I Lied and How Am I Supposed To Live Without You.

Bolton closed the show with Soul Provider and also gave his saxophonist a moment to show off his incredible talent. Bolton, alongside one of his backup singers also performed a duet of Make You Feel My Love.

Tarrus Riley had the crowd grooving to some of his hits. He even invited his daughter “Pepsi” to perform Lighter, and also performed his popular song She’s Royal.

Ky-Mani Marley also delivered and the fans sang along. He honored his father, Bob, during his very interactive set.

Without a doubt, Saturday night’s concert will linger in the minds of many Jamaicans who were serenaded by the captivating performances and sweet-sounding music. 

The concert not only accomplished its goal of keeping the audience entertained but also surpassed the original US$300,000 goal. 

The proceeds will support the Issa Trust Foundation’s latest project – the construction of the Mary Issa Health Centre in St Ann to provide top-notch pediatric and adolescent primary healthcare to the children of Jamaica on an ongoing basis.
