Organizers thrilled by growing interest in Jamaica’s upcoming diaspora conference

The 10th Biennial Jamaica Diaspora Conference is quickly approaching, with event organizers confirming their readiness and expressing excitement over the robust registration of delegates.

Set to occur from June 16 to 19 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, the conference operates under the banner ‘United for Jamaica’s Transformation: Fostering Peace, Productivity, and Youth Empowerment’.

A global gathering for change

State Minister in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Hon. Alando Terrelonge gave an update on the conference at a Jamaica Information Service (JIS) Think Tank, held today (June 6), at the agency’s Head Office in Kingston.

He shared that this significant event promises to unite Jamaican diaspora members, various sector stakeholders, and local leaders in a collaborative effort to tackle pressing issues and seize opportunities for substantial change in Jamaica. 

The conference will serve as a platform to discuss and devise synergistic strategies aimed at overcoming obstacles and fostering national advancement.

Mobilizing Jamaicans worldwide

The conference is set to witness a historic level of participation with Jamaicans residing globally, including regions as diverse as the Middle East, Asia, Africa, the United Kingdom, North America, Canada, and the Caribbean. 

The convergence of these global citizens highlights a collective endeavor to contribute positively to the welfare of Jamaicans everywhere.

Strategies for enhanced participation

Chair of the Biennial Diaspora Conference, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), VM Group, Courtney Campbell, also expressed that he is pleased with the registration numbers he has seen.

He noted that the extension of the early bird registration and the introduction of a 24-hour flash sale, have significantly boosted participant numbers.

These strategies aim to accommodate the characteristic last-minute nature of many potential attendees, ensuring that all interested parties have the opportunity to contribute to this landmark event.

The organizers remain optimistic about achieving record-breaking attendance, driven by vigorous promotional efforts in the weeks leading up to the conference.
