The long-discussed forum, initiated last year, aimed to strengthen investment in the Caribbean, providing a platform for government officials, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to explore investment opportunities. Over two days, participants engaged in networking and presentations, highlighting potential investments from U.S. investors and Caribbean nationals in the U.S. into the Caribbean.

Spotlight on Investment Opportunities

The event, opened by CAIPA president Ronald Theodore and Consul General Holder, featured speakers from various sectors delivering insights on investment and collaboration between New York and the Caribbean. Contributions from agencies like the Caribbean Development Bank, IDB Lab, and USAID, along with testimonies from regional investors, enriched the discussions.

Consuls General Holder, Jerome Andre Laveau, and Rondy McIntosh shared insights on strengthening connections between the Caribbean Diaspora in the U.S. and the Caribbean. Holder emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting, “The event was excellent…it was a particularly proud moment to play a role in the historic forum.”

Rondy McIntosh described the Caribbean as a new investment frontier, inviting interest in untapped opportunities in the region. Jerome Andre Laveau expressed confidence in the Caribbean’s attractive investment attributes and foresaw intensified investment promotions following the forum’s success.

New Era of Engagement

“The USA-Caribbean Investment Forum marked a new era of engagement for CAIPA,” said CAIPA president Ronald Theodore, heralding the event as a catalyst for new partnerships and a brighter economic future for the Caribbean.
