Jamaican deportee faces charges in 2018 murder case

A 50-year-old Jamaican, who had been deported, found himself facing murder charges on Christmas Day, just days after his return to the island.

The accused, identified as Omar Berford, known by the aliases ‘Guns’ and ‘Gunnoz,’ has been charged with the murder of Tomolo Thomas, who lost his life five years ago due to a stabbing incident. 

Berford was arrested overseas and subsequently deported to Jamaica on December 21. 

He now faces charges of murder, which were officially laid against him on Christmas day.

Details of stabbing incident 

According to the Denham Town police reports, the incident dates back to September 2018 when both Tomolo Thomas and Omar Berford were at their shared residence on Upper Oxford Street. 

An argument between the two escalated rapidly, eventually turning physical. 

Reports are that a knife was brought into play, leading to multiple stab wounds inflicted on Thomas’ head and neck during the altercation.

Thomas was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
