Health and education to take center stage at diaspora conference

The 10th Biennial Diaspora Conference, set to take place from June 16 to 19 at the Montego Bay Convention Centre, will spotlight key sectors of health and education.

Healthcare transformation through diaspora engagement

One of the highlight sessions, titled ‘Transforming Jamaica’s Health System in Partnership with the Diaspora’, will explore innovative approaches to healthcare. 

This session aims to integrate modern technology and build capacity to tackle healthcare challenges effectively while promoting wellness across Jamaica. 

Discussions will focus on strengthening the national health system through diaspora-driven partnerships that align with global standards and national objectives.

Educational advancements through collaborative efforts

The conference will also feature a pivotal plenary session on education that brings together educators, industry leaders, and policymakers. 

This session will delve into the integration of digital tools and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) curricula, along with experiential learning to enhance Jamaica’s educational framework. 

Participants will discuss overcoming challenges and deploying collaborative strategies to drive educational innovation.

Enhancing contributions through customs and charitable donations

Additionally, a breakout session named ‘Customs and You’ will provide guidance on how diaspora members can contribute to Jamaica’s health and education sectors through charitable donations.
