The fatal incident occurred over the Labor Day weekend at their Broward home, where the couple lived with their 14-year-old twin sons.

For two years, Malcolm had been aware of her husband’s infidelity, which led to a steady breakdown of their relationship. She told detectives, “She did not trust him and was at her wits’ end with his lies and deceit,” according to the police report.

They slept in separate rooms and often engaged in heated arguments. On the day of the shooting, after returning from shopping for a Labor Day barbecue, Rohan unexpectedly announced that he was leaving to go out with friends. Malcolm believed he was lying and suspected he was going to meet someone else. A nearly hour-long argument erupted, pushing Malcolm over the edge.

In her rage, she grabbed a gun from her bedroom closet and shot her husband multiple times. One of the couple’s sons, who was eating in his room, heard his father’s screams and found him bleeding from the shoulder. The other twin heard the commotion from the living room. Malcolm reportedly told the boys to leave the room, and one of them rushed downstairs to call 911.

Despite Rohan being alive when the son first saw him, Malcolm fired a final shot. She later told detectives she had been contemplating suicide after her husband died but stopped herself when he said something in his final moments. She didn’t specify what he said but admitted, “That’s when I shot him again.”

Police arrived at the home around 6:30 pm after receiving the son’s 911 call. When officers issued commands for the occupants to exit, the boys complied, but Malcolm stayed inside. Officers then heard the final gunshot before entering and finding Rohan dead. Malcolm was arrested and remains in custody without bail at the Broward Sheriff’s Office.
