Aisha Rainford elected President of Jamaican Women of Florida

In a significant development for the Jamaican Women of Florida (JWOF), Aisha Rainford has been elected as the organization’s new President during its Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, February 17, at the Southwest Regional Library in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

Rainford, who previously served as Vice President, brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to community service to her new role.

A visionary leader with a strong community focus

Aisha Rainford’s background is marked by a distinguished career characterized by community involvement, philanthropy, and corporate leadership. 

As a proud Jamaican, Rainford has long been an advocate for positive change within her community, championing initiatives aimed at education and empowerment. 

Notably, she has been instrumental in establishing the Aisha King-Rainford Scholarship at the University of the West Indies, demonstrating her dedication to advancing educational opportunities for Jamaican youth.

A continuation of empowerment efforts

In assuming her new position, Aisha Rainford expresses her commitment to furthering the empowerment of Jamaican women and girls, both in Jamaica and Florida. 

Her vision for JWOF underlines the organization’s dedication to service and leadership, aiming to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals within the community and beyond.

New board members and induction plans

The newly elected Board for the upcoming term includes Michelle Williamson as Vice President, Noya Hastings-Ritchie as Secretary, Pauline Foster as Treasurer, Natasha Wright as NextGen Director, Debbie Dickinson as Director-at-Large Legal, and Caren Muir as Director-at-Large General. 

This diverse and dynamic team will be officially inducted at JWOF’s annual Women’s Empowerment Conference and Scholarship Luncheon scheduled for March 23, 2024.

Paving the way for future success

Rainford’s election heralds a new chapter in the history of JWOF, signaling a continued commitment to championing the cause of Jamaican women in Florida. 

With her leadership at the helm, JWOF is poised to reach new heights in its endeavors related to community service, education, and empowerment.

Outside of her role at JWOF, Aisha Rainford serves as the Vice President of the Global Privacy Program at American Express. 

She resides in Plantation, Florida, with her husband Ryan and daughter Jasmin.
