THE BATTLE OF THE BADGES’ this Friday in Miami Gardens

MIAMI GARDENS — The “Battle of the Badges” basketball tournament between Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and Miami-Dade Corrections will be held on Friday, January 18, 2019, 6:00 p. m., at Miami Norland Senior High School in Miami Gardens, Florida.

Law enforcement and correction officers will hit the court in honor of Miami-Dade’s Corporal Daveon L. Hall, a correction officer who was tragically murdered in Broward County nearly three years ago. Corporal Hall’s passion was to mentor and serve as a role model to young boys whose fathers were absent from the household.

To memorialize Corporal Hall’s legacy, ‘The Battle of the Badges’ organization has partnered with the Daveon L. Hall (DLH) Foundation to identify 25 boys who attend Norwood Elementary School to participate in a mentoring program.

Prior to the start of the January 18th basketball tournament, Chief Eddie F. Denson will  induct the boys into the mentoring program. They will also receive a new pair of NIKE sneakers and an official Daveon L. Hall polo shirt.

The friendly competition gives the community a chance to honor the heroes who have been lost in the line of duty.

For more information about the Daveon L. Hall Foundation’s mentoring program, Contact: Barbara Drummond @ 954-417-7940 or e-mail: daveonhallfoundation@yahoo.com
