Jamaica’s Ministry of Health and Wellness says investigations have started following the discovery of a fetus in the sewer at the Kingston Public Hospital.

In a statement on Thursday, the ministry said from preliminary information received, the fetus was discovered by a man cleaning the sewer under the basement of the hospital.

The incident was reported to the police and an investigation has been launched.

The health ministry said the public will be updated on the progress of the investigations.
