Mayor Richard J. Kaplan, with only a few weeks left in office before retirement, was happy to hear the news. The City of Lauderhill’s Annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year ending 2017 was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
The accolade is given by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
“Every year I look forward to the announcement. The Finance Team, under the direction of City Manager Chuck Faranda and Finance Director/Assistant City Manager Kennie Hobbs, Jr. make the entire Commission and residents quite proud. The honor means we have met the highest standards of the GFOA. This is the 29th consecutive year the City of Lauderhill has achieved this honor, providing further proof of the fiscal integrity of the City,” exclaims the Mayor.
The impartial panel bestows the honors on governments and its’ management because of its’ financial reporting and its’ full disclosure in communicating its’ financial story.
