Banton, real name Anthony Myrie, 45-year-old, was originally arrested in December 2009, found guilty in February 2011 and was scheduled to be released from the McRae Correctional Facility in February 2019.

But his prison sentence was reduced by two months in January of 2016, after the US Attorney’s Office in Florida announced an agreement in which Banton agreed to waive all future appeals of his conviction on cocaine distribution and conspiracy charges. In return, prosecutors agreed to drop a firearms charge against him. It is expected that Banton will be returning to Jamaica within days of his release.

Now Banton’s fan eagerly await to see the entertainer’s return to the stage in Jamaica and the rest of the Caribbean

It is reported that Banton’s first stage performance is scheduled for Jamaica. It was also been reported on Instagram that he plans to go on a world tour in the summer of 2019. The tour is being labelled as the “Long Walk to Freedom.”
