The online event drew a diverse group of stakeholders, including shipping agents, importers, exporters, and business leaders seeking clarity on tariff issues and logistics solutions. The main focus of the discussion was the strategic benefits of Foreign Trade Zones (FTZs) in the United States, which allow businesses to defer or avoid import duties on goods that are later exported.

“These sessions are extremely valuable, especially given today’s shifting geopolitical climate,” said Martin. “They create opportunities for direct engagement and education between key players in international trade.”

PortMiami continues to recognize Jamaica as a vital trading partner in the region, with the Caribbean nation contributing more than $300 million in trade value annually. The webinar highlighted the importance of such partnerships in strengthening trade ties and promoting economic growth across borders.
