A Jamaican farmer who was reportedly involved in a shooting at a party in Clarendon was nabbed on Thursday, March 2, at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston.
He is Linval Thompson, 31, otherwise called ‘Saskel’ or ‘Bryan’, of Chateau District in May Pen in the parish.
Thompson was arrested by detectives from the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime (C-TOC) as he attempted to flee the country.
He has since been charged with wounding with intent, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition, use of a firearm to commit a felony, and robbery with aggravation.
According to reports, on Saturday, February 25, Thompson and another man entered a party and robbed the organizer of $100,000.
He then opened gunfire indiscriminately at the crowd.
Reports are that six people were shot and injured, including a police officer. They were taken to hospital, where they were treated for gunshot wounds.
Thompson was subsequently charged.
His court date is being finalized.
