This is ahead of the reggae boyz international friendly against the United States in Austria on March 25.

Two other players had tested positive for the virus while in Jamaica. However, a release from the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) on Tuesday said both have now tested negative.

“Results of the COVID-19 tests done in Austria on Monday, March 22 have been received. The two individuals who tested positive based on the test done in Jamaica have now tested negative, said the press release from the JFF.

“However, two different players, one England-based, have now returned positive results. Both players are now isolated.”

The release further said that “another test was done today, Tuesday, March 23 as per UEFA matchday minus two protocol. Those results will be available on Wednesday morning.

“The protocols are being strictly followed in the hotel and every individual is constantly reminded of his responsibility by the team medical personnel and team manager Roy Simpson. The team now has a physiotherapist in the form of Nico Reishofer, an Austrian.”

The Jamaica Football Federation said the two positive players are currently in isolation.

Thursday’s game forms a part of their preparations for the 2021 Gold Cup tournament and the final round of World Cup qualifiers later this year.
