The site will officially open on Wednesday (January 13) and then be open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Vaccinations will be done by appointment only for citizens 65 and older with government-issued identification. It will be a walk-in only site, not a drive-thru location.

The other five sites are drive-thru and also by appointment only:

Tradewinds Park, 3600 West Sample Road, Coconut Creek

Vista View Park, Southwest 142nd Avenue, Davie

Markham Park, 160001 West State Road 84, Sunrise

Holiday Park, 1150 G. Harold Martin Dr, Fort Lauderdale

Central Regional Park, 3700 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill

Vaccination appointments are required at all vaccination sites and can be made online at BrowardCovidVaccine.com. But officials say none of the six DOH-Broward sites is currently accepting new appointments. The new site is to help clear the backlog of thousands of residents on the Florida Department of Health waiting list.

The following hospitals are also vaccinating but have no open appointments at this time: Cleveland Clinic, Memorial Healthcare, Broward Health and Holy Cross Health.

Florida Medical Center is in Phase 1 of its vaccination plan, which includes vaccinating front line staff and physicians. Planning is underway for community vaccinations, as soon as more vaccine doses become available.

According to the Department of Health’s Florida Shots database, as of January 9: there are 39,717 individuals that have received a first dose of vaccine; 6,480 have received two (complete) dose series. That is up from 33,080 first doses and 4,061 two (complete) dose vaccinations as of January 7.
