Jazmine Sullivan to headline 4th Annual SoLa Rum, Food & Wine Festival

Grammy-nominated R&B artist Jazmine Sullivan will headline this Sunday’s SoLA Rum, Food and Wine Festival at the Lauderhill Performing Arts Center (3800 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, FL 33311). The event, which takes place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., will also feature a tasting pavilion offering patrons inspired cuisine that reflects the many influences of the diaspora.

In addition to Ms. Sullivan, this year’s entertainment will also include American Idol finalist DeAndre Brackensick, April RaQuel & Kouture Funk Band.

An Afro-Caribbean “Cookup”

New this year is the Sola “Tasting Pavilion,” curated by Jamaican descent Chef Chad Cherry and Belize descent Karen Cherry of Chef Kulture.  The pavilion will feature six South Florida chefs, three of Jamaican descent, who’ll use flavorful spices and ingredients in their sizzling dishes inspired by the Caribbean diaspora. Guests can expect to see live demonstrations and enjoy the chef-prepared samples in the pavilion. In addition, attendees can stroll under the stars to sample and purchase from the local food, rum, and wine vendors. Demonstration times will be announced onsite.

“We are excited to announce the date for our 4th annual festival and can’t wait to share our new sponsors, community partners, and entertainment lineup. Last year’s festival was like no other and we’re looking to top everyone’s experience this year,” said Maria Munro, Managing Director, SoLa Rum, Food & Wine Festival.  “Throughout these past three years, events like SoLa have strengthened the central Broward Region’s reputation as a destination for culturally diverse communities, cuisine, entertainment, and arts — a true ‘Floribbean’ lifestyle,” Munro added.

The event is presented by the Lauderhill Regional Chamber of Commerce (LRCC). Partial proceeds from the event will go on to fund Lauderhill Chamber Foundation arts and education programs. General Admissions tickets are $45; VIP Experience tickets for one person is $100 and $180 for two persons. VIP Ticket sales end on February 15th. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite
