Scott, 71, played for the Jamaican club, Cavalier FC under legendary coach Leighton Duncan. He also made his name as a high school coach guiding Tivoli Gardens High School to their first Manning Cup title in 1976.

A midfielder, Scott played for Jamaica’s national team between 1965 and 1969, representing Jamaica in eight FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.

In 1965, under the leadership of Brazilian coach Jorge Penna, Jamaica made its first attempt at World Cup qualifying. This was for the 1966 World Cup finals in England. Jamaica defeated Cuba 2-0 at the National Stadium in Kingston and also defeated the Netherlands Antilles by a similar score.

However, in their away games Jamaica was held to a goalless draw by the Netherlands Antilles and suffered an unexpected 2–1 defeat to Cuba. Jamaica advanced to the final group of three where they lost 3-2 at home to Mexico and were thrashed 8-0 in Mexico City.

In 1968, under coach George Hamilton, Jamaica lost all their qualifying matches for the 1970 World Cup Finals in Mexico.

By then, Scott was playing in the United States where he had 69 appearances for the Atlanta Chiefs in the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL) between 1967 and 1970.
