People Profile Awards celebrates a decade of honoring community leaders on July 13

The 2025 People Profile Awards, a black-tie red-carpet event that celebrates individuals whose personal stories inspire, educate, or uplift others, will return to Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, July 13, 2025, marking a decade of recognizing excellence.

Founded in 2015 by diaspora businessman Dr. Allan Cunningham, the People Profile Awards was created as a platform to highlight individuals, groups, and organizations making a meaningful impact in their communities and beyond. Over the past ten years, it has also helped raise funds for a range of charitable initiatives, including Whitfield Town Primary, Maverly Primary and Infant School, and the Tom Joyner Foundation.

This year’s milestone event—sponsored by the Housing Foundation of America—will take place at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, and will honor a diverse slate of awardees from across professions and backgrounds. A Lifetime Achievement Awards will be presented to renowned musician Willie Stewart.

Other notable honorees include Bishop John Gordon, former Broward County Administrator Monica Cepero, sports anchor Donovan Campbell, and photographer Don Parchment. Categories include the Humanitarian Award, Media Award, Sportsman of the Year, and Courage Award, to be presented by local celebrities and community influencers.

The ceremony will also feature a full entertainment package, showcasing performers from the music industry, as well as tributes to educators and sports coaches. Organizers say this year’s theme centers on celebrating the strength and resilience of people who are making a difference in everyday life.

The 2025 launch and press briefing were held earlier this year at the organization’s annual Men’s Cuisine event.

As Dr. Cunningham marks a decade of storytelling through the People Profile platform, this year’s event promises to be a memorable night of reflection, celebration, and community pride.
