Visitors are encouraged to bring a picnic and relax under the stately Royal Palm trees with scenic views of Biscayne Bay, while exploring the rich heritage and natural beauty of the Deering Estate. The day’s activities include a guided museum tour at 11:30 a.m. and entry to the featured Contemporary Currents Exhibition, “To Be Dwellers With This Land” by artist Pangea Kali Virga, displayed inside the Richmond Cottage Garden Room.

Tickets go on sale online beginning July 1, and admission is free for children ages 3 and under as well as Deering Estate Foundation Members (membership cards required at the gate). Those interested in joining the Foundation can take advantage of a 15% discount on new memberships purchased online with promo code DEJuly4, valid through July 10, 2025.

In addition, Deering Estate is proud to participate in the Blue Star Museums program, which grants free summer admission for active-duty military personnel and up to five family members, now through Labor Day, September 1, 2025.

The July 4 celebration also falls during Park and Recreation Month, a time to recognize the lasting impact of park professionals who help build vibrant, healthy communities. This year’s national theme, “Build Together, Play Together,” highlights how local parks create meaningful connections and lifelong memories for millions.

Located at 16701 SW 72 Avenue, the Deering Estate is managed by the Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department and is designated as a Heritage Park. The site serves as a cultural hub, ecological field station, and 21st-century house museum, reflecting the county’s commitment to conservation, history, and education.
