The certification, awarded on Friday, May 16, recognizes sales and streaming figures surpassing 200,000 units—marking Popcaan’s first solo silver certification in the UK.

Originally released on March 9, 2018, My Type was produced by KaleX and credited to Jelly Bads/Unruly Entertainment/KaleX Productions. The song was recorded by Popcaan and Jelly Bads and has since become a fan favorite for its infectious hook, smooth delivery, and signature dancehall energy.

The track, which forms part of Popcaan’s impressive catalogue, showcases his crossover appeal and growing global influence. Its success is bolstered by the official music video, which has racked up more than 36 million views on YouTube since its release in May 2018.

In addition to its recent certification, My Type had strong chart performances globally, reaching #17 on the Apple Music chart and #27 on iTunes, with notable radio airplay in the UK, France, and the United States.
